I’m styling a cozy entryway nook with King of Christmas. It’s Christmas entryway decor at it’s finest!

It’s true that an entryway is the first room people see, making it the very first impression of your home. So, go all out, right?! I don’t think there’s a need for that, though. I believe that an entryway doesn’t need to be anything over the top or fancy, rather a space that welcomes guests (and you) with grace and care. I’ve partnered with King of Christmas to bring you an elegant, cozy, (and a little vintage) entryway nook idea for Christmas decorating. Join me below to see how to style an easy, effortless entry space for the holiday season!

How to Style an Entryway for Christmas with a Matching Garland, Wreath & Trees

Hello, guys! I’m interrupting our regularly scheduled fall programming to talk Christmas decor…just for today. I promise I won’t have any more Christmas content until November!

But, when a brand such as King of Christmas comes calling, it’s important that I answer.

So! In this post, I’m going to walk you through how I created the most elegant and cozy Christmas nook in my small entryway using faux Royal Fir trees, matching garland, and a wreath, and tying everything together with ribbon, dried flowers, and vintage ornaments.
This is totally a look that you could re-create and style in your own home for the upcoming holiday season, whether you have a tiny entry space or a grand foyer.

Materials I Used for Small Entryway Christmas Decor

From King of Christmas

*If you don’t use the outlet plugs, the set does require 3 D batteries per garland, tree, and wreath, which need to be purchased separately.*

Christmas Entryway Decor: A Cozy Nook with King of Christmas

The entry is one of my favorite spots in my home to decorate for the holiday season. It may be small, but it can pack a big punch when mindfully styled!

Here, I’ll walk you through what I chose from King of Christmas and why, my honest opinion of their products and how I decorated it all.

Why I Chose the Royal Fir LED Collection

So, why did I choose the Royal Fir collection?

  1. It’s a Matching Set. Everything goes together and coordinates beautifully, which makes styling easy and effortless.
  2. The Greenery Look. I prefer the look of fir over pine, especially when it’s faux. The fir looks more realistic to me, which is obviously always the aesthetic that I’m after.

  3. Quality. This set is genuinely high-quality. Each piece is full and lush and the greenery doesn’t look fake or plastic-y.
  4. Pre-Lit with LED Lights. Each item in this set comes pre-lit with warm white LED lights. Lighting holiday greenery is so time consuming, so having everything already strung with lights is a huge plus.
The LED lights are bright and warm, but not overpowering. The lights can either be plugged in or you can attach the battery adaptor unit to each item, which is extremely handy in a space like an entry where there may not be any outlets!

Setting Up the Christmas Entryway Nook

Now let’s decorate!

It’s always so fun for me to come up with themes, or adjectives, for how I want displays to look. In my head, I was imagining soothing and calm. Elegant yet cozy. And, to be frank, I think I nailed it.

Here’s what I did and all the decor accessories I used to bring the look to life!

Step 1: Hang the Garland

In my entry, there is a small shelf with coat hooks that’s built in to the wall, along with an antique wooden mirror. Those two things stay all the time, meaning I had to find a way to decorate around them.

So, I started with the largest item first, which is the garland.

Now, my walls are textured (which I loathe) but there is nothing I can do about it. To get my garland to hang properly, and to make sure it was super secure, I hammered a few nails into the wall. I swagged the garland a tad in the middle so that it hung more naturally.

I’ll have you know that the battery pack is extremely heavy. You’ll need a sturdy base to place it, like a shelf or something, so it doesn’t fall and pull the whole garland down.

I set the battery pack on my shelf and disguised it with a few white vintage hankies.

To style the garland, I intermingled the King of Christmas rose-gold leaf picks with dried green hydrangeas that I had my MIL pick for me from her yard.

I used a floral wire cutter to snip the rose-gold leaf picks to size and spread them out evenly amongst the garland. I did the same with the dried flowers. The light green on dark green is everything!

Less is more here. I don’t love the look of a crowded garland so I kept it really minimal.

To me, the look of elegance means letting each thing be it’s own and letting it shine without embellishment or flourishes. The white lights bring the sparkle and I didn’t want to cover those up. So, I kept it just like this and I love how it looks!

Step 2: Attach the Wreath with Lace Ribbon

Next, I hung the wreath. This piece was a lot simpler to hang, as you can imagine!

I found the dreamiest vintage looking lace ribbon to use just for this purpose. So, I assessed how far down I wanted the wreath to hang then measured the ribbon accordingly, knotting it a few times to secure.

All I did after that was space out three of the dried hydrangeas amongst the wreath and called it good!

*Note: This wreath does not have a plug, only a battery pack, which is secured to the wreath form on the back.*

Step 3: Dress the Trees

Next up…the trees, my fav out of the collection!

To start, I wanted the trees to be offset, like to not be at the same height. So, I stacked up some old hardcover books and placed the left tree on top of them. That made the tree about two inches taller than the one on the floor, which looked pleasing to my eyes.

Then, to cover up the books and battery packs, I used a thrifted lace tablecloth.

This is one of my favorite holiday decorating hacks! You don’t need to use a traditional tree skirt…just go to the thrift store and find an old table linen for just a few dollars!

Now all that’s left to do is decorate the trees!

So that the whole collection felt cohesive, I stuck a handful of dried hydrangeas and rose-gold leaf picks amongst the branches.

To amp it up a little, and bring in the elegance I was after, I hung a few Shiny Brite ornaments from my collection on the trees. So that they tied in with the aesthetic, the ornaments I chose were either silver or muted gold.

Finally, to finish off the trees, I tied champagne bows onto the tops of the trees, like tree toppers. I kept the tail ends really long so that they trailed down the trees.

They look SO stunning and complete the display in the most elegant way!

Step 4: Final Touches

So that the white shelf holding the battery pack looked like part of the display, I added a milk glass vase on the right side and stuck a few longer stems of dried hydrangeas inside.

And, I think the antique mirror (that I thrifted for just a few dollars years ago) totally looks like it belongs in this entryway display. If you can, I highly recommend hanging a mirror in Christmas vignettes.

The way that the mirror bounces around the Christmas lights is just magical…almost like they are twinkling!

Styling Tips for a Christmas Entryway

I always like to share some tips or things that I’ve learned along the way. Here are some tidbits that you can try to implement when styling your own entryway for the season:

Mix Old and New- You can absolutely pair modern pieces such as a shelf, a bench, a lamp, or new greenery with vintage Shiny Brites and thrifted finds.

Repeat Your Elements- When decorating, be sure that you are using the same two-three elements throughout, just as I did in my display with the dried hydrangeas, picks, and ribbon. This ensures a cohesive look and ties everything together seamlessly. Other examples can include:

Make It Work for a Small Space- If you happen to live in a small space, or have a tiny entryway like mine, tabletop trees and a slim garland keep things from feeling crowded. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…less is more! There is no need to overpack the greenery. Keep things super simple and, I think, it’s totally acceptable to use the bare minimum.

More Christmas Decor Ideas

Finally, before we close, here are a few other ideas I had that you could use to fit your own space!

Swap Decor Used

Of course you can absolutely swap the colors, ornaments, and ribbon to fit a different theme or decorating aesthetic. The beauty about King of Christmas products is that they are extremely versatile. That fact enables you to use just about any color, theme, or decor style to decorate their greenery for the season. Isn’t that great?

Other themes can include:

  • Rustic
  • Plaid (think Ralph Lauren)
  • Victorian
  • Cottage or English Country
  • Moody, Dark Academia
  • Timeless Red and Green

How to Adapt the Look

Another option is, if you didn’t want to style this type of display in an entry, you can totally adapt the look to work for a mantel, console table, staircase, or a bedroom!

Just measure and plan accordingly and then follow the same steps above, tweaking it to fit your space. Easy peasy!

Closing Tidbits on Christmas Entryway Decor: A Cozy Nook with King of Christmas

This concludes my ideas for styling a cozy Christmas entryway! I truly love the simple yet elegant look that I was able to achieve, thanks to the King of Christmas collection.

A note on sustainability: When using brand new Christmas decor items (such as greenery), to achieve a timeless, found-over-time aesthetic, it’s helpful to mix in secondhand pieces and/or items already on hand. This ensures the vignette will not feel stark or flat, plus it’s just fun to mix and match!

Life is all about balance. So, be encouraged to embrace the season we are in, while also having something to look forward to.

FAQ’s on King of Christmas Decor

Is King of Christmas good quality?

Yes, absolutely! King of Christmas is known for pre-lit artificial trees, garlands, and wreaths. I was sent the Royal Fir LED collection to style. This set is full, the branches feel real and look high-end, the the greenery looks super realistic. This company is a great middle-of-the-road option for high-quality trees without the super high price tag.

Can you mix vintage ornaments with a new Christmas decor set?

Yes, and it’s one of my favorite ways to add character. Vintage Shiny Brite ornaments add a soft, nostalgic charm to the clean look of a matching set. Thrift stores, antique malls, and estate sales are great places to find them on a budget.

How do you add dried flowers or hydrangeas to a Christmas garland?

Tuck the stems into the branches and secure them with floral wire or the garland’s own branch tips. I paired dried green hydrangeas with gold leaf picks for texture and a little shimmer, and used the same hydrangeas in the wreath and trees so everything coordinated.

Does King of Christmas offer a warranty?

King of Christmas offers a limited warranty on their products.

Artificial Christmas Trees: The trees include a 2-year limited warranty from the purchase date, covering select structural (branches, hinges, stands) and lighting issues. Excluded from the warranty are loose tips, flocking, minor shedding, and isolated burned-out bulbs.

Clearance, OPEN BOX / Final Sale items, Wreaths, Garlands, and Accessories: These product categories include a 90-day limited warranty. All details of the 2-year limited warranty are applicable, the only difference being the length of coverage.
