The Food & Wine Classic in Charleston is just a few weeks away—and there’s still time to snag your tickets to the South Carolina Lowcountry’s top culinary event. From Nov. 13-15, Food & Wine, Travel + Leisure, and Southern Living are taking over the Holy City with a star-studded lineup of chefs and beverage experts, plus some of the foodie destination’s hottest restaurants, for a weekend packed with grand tastings, seminars, panels, and one-of-a-kind experiences. Fall in Charleston isn’t complete without a classic oyster roast—and thankfully, T+L has you covered.
On Nov. 13, we’re hosting the Travel + Leisure Pearls of the Coast: Lowcountry Oyster Roast, and it’s only fitting that our recent culinary issue cover star, Anthony Ramos, is joining in on the fun. Ramos, a member of the original “Hamilton” Broadway cast and star of the film adaptation of “In the Heights,” will co-host the evening with our editor-in-chief, Jacqui Gifford, and take the stage for a special performance. He’s bringing some of the top dishes from his beloved Milly’s Neighborhood Bar, which he opened last summer in Brooklyn, down to Charleston.

From 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., some of the area’s top chefs are taking over American Gardens on King Street with incredible eats, including roasted oysters and a raw bar, plus craft cocktails, fine wines, and live music. Oyster roasts are a Lowcountry tradition, so expect to shuck plenty of the delicious bivalves brought in from local producers, in addition to bites from chef Mike Lata of Charleston mainstays FIG and The Ordinary, chef Shuai Wang of King BBQ and Jackrabbit Filly, chef Hector Garate of Palmira Barbecue, and chef Clark Monzon of Milly’s Neighborhood Bar. Trey McMillan, owner of Lowcountry Oyster Co., Terrell Burg Brown, owner of Brown’s Oyster Supply, and celebrity chef Nyesha Arrington will also be at the party celebrating the best of Charleston and beyond.

You can also add a classic pass for the Food & Wine Classic in Charleston, which gives guests access to grand tastings, expert-led seminars, and more, to your oyster roast ticket for a special combined price of $1,650. For a deeper dive into the Holy City’s seafood culture, grab a ticket to the Sea to Table: Crabbing & Cooking in the Lowcountry experience, also hosted by T+L. After crabbing from a dock on the Ashley River with local food and beverage expert Tia Clark of Casual Crabbing with Tia, guests will enjoy a crab-centric lunch at a restaurant with a T+L editor.
